Almost every week I have a patient ask me, “Why do I need to come in for treatment so much?”...
Usually these patients are newer patients or are established patients that have a new injury and are coming to see me 3, 4 or even 5 times a week. Now this may seem like a lot but when starting treatment on a new condition OR on an old condition, frequency and consistency is key to get the best result.
I usually say it’s like starting a new diet or workout routine, the more often you do it the better results you will get. With chiropractic we are trying to change the body; to re-establish normal joint range of motion, to free up pinched nerves, to address inflammation and once or twice a week probably just won’t get us the results we want.
Say that you have pain and you take pain medication. What happens? You take a few Ibuprofen or Tylenol and it wears off in 4 to 6 hours so you take more and more but the pain never goes away for good because there is little to no therapeutic value, it’s a band aid covering up the symptoms.
The treatments that I do, chiropractic, seek to fix the root cause of the problem and most likely the problem did not arise overnight so it won’t go away with just a few treatments. If you’re dealing with a problem that we may be able to help with use the contact form or call the office today and schedule an appointment with Dr. Campbell to see if we can give relief without drugs or surgery.
